The 299D3, 299D, 299C, 289C and 279C run 450x86x60 — CAT's largest 18-inch compact track loader tracks, built for grading, mulching, and heavy material handling.
Large-frame CTLs: 450x86x56
The 289D and 279D use 450x86x56 — an 18-inch track shared with several competitor large-frame loaders.
Mid-frame CTL: 259D
The 259D runs 320x86x53 (13-inch) or 400x86x53 (16-inch). The newer 259D3 uses 400x86x53.
Compact CTLs: 249D & 239D
The 249D and 239D use 320x86x49 (13-inch) or 400x86x49 (16-inch). Measure your current track width to confirm which your machine runs.
Multi-Terrain Loaders: 287, 277, 257 & 247
CAT's MTLs run wide ASV-style tracks: the 287 uses 457x101.6x50, the 277 uses 457x101.6x56, and the 257 and 247 use 381x100.5x42. Use each model's link in the chart above to shop the exact track.
CAT generations: C, D, D2, D3
CAT compact loaders span C, D, D2, and D3 generations. The same frame often shares a track width, but link counts and guide types can change between generations — always confirm the size stamped on your current track before ordering.
C-Block vs Zig-Zag tread for CAT loaders
- C-Block — best all-around traction for dirt, grading, and mixed jobsites.
- Zig-Zag / Multi-Bar — smoother ride and better surface protection on pavement, turf, and finished surfaces.

How to confirm your CAT track size
Don't order by model alone — confirm the size molded into the sidewall of your current track. CAT runs several generations on shared frames, so width and link count matter. If the machine plate and track markings don't agree, send us a photo and we'll verify before you buy.
