- Sprockets: look for hooked, pointed or asymmetrical tooth wear. The tooth should engage the drive lug cleanly instead of dragging across one edge.
- Bottom rollers: check for bearing play, leakage, binding, flat spots and uneven flange wear.

- Tension system: confirm the adjuster moves through its usable range and holds tension.

Do you need to replace everything at once?
