How Rubber Track Sizing Works

Rubber track sizes are commonly written as width × pitch × links, such as 320×86×49 or 400×86×52. Those dimensions are part of the fitment equation, but machine configuration and internal guide or drive geometry can matter too. If more than one legitimate width is available for a loader, compare flotation, ground pressure, access width, surface impact, traction requirements, and cost rather than assuming one width is always better.

Choose the Tread for the Work

Tread pattern affects how the machine grips, cleans out, turns, rides, and disturbs the surface. C-Block is a balanced all-around option for mixed construction surfaces. Multi-Bar uses frequent ground-contact edges for smooth, predictable travel. Zig-Zag favors aggressive bite and cleanout in mud, clay, snow, and loose soil. X-Terrain is aimed at severe or debris-heavy ground. Directional patterns are application-specific and should be installed in the intended orientation when offered.

ASV Posi-Track applications deserve separate attention because the positive-drive undercarriage uses its own belt and drive-lug geometry. Match the correct Posi-Track replacement configuration first, then compare tread and operating-condition choices.

Protect Track Life with the Undercarriage

Before installing new tracks, inspect sprockets, idlers, rollers, guides, tensioning components, alignment, and packed debris. Worn undercarriage parts or incorrect tension can shorten replacement-track life even when the track itself is correctly matched.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common fitment, shipping, and replacement parts questions

What's the difference between W-guide and N-guide tracks?
Guide lugs are the raised teeth on the inside of the track that keep the belt aligned through the undercarriage. W-guide and N-guide refer to different internal guide configurations and must match the machine. If you are unsure, send TrackTECH your machine make and model and we will verify the correct fitment before fulfillment.
Which tread pattern should I choose?
Match the tread to the work surface and operating priority. C-Block is a balanced choice for mixed and abrasive surfaces. Multi-Bar provides frequent ground contact for smoother travel and lower surface disturbance. Zig-Zag favors bite and cleanout in mud, clay, snow, and loose soil. X-Terrain is aimed at rough, debris-heavy ground, while other directional or specialty patterns should be selected for the intended application.
How long do rubber tracks last?
Track life varies with terrain, machine use, turning habits, track tension, alignment, and undercarriage condition. Keeping the undercarriage clean and maintaining the machine to specification helps maximize replacement-track life.
How does TrackTECH verify rubber-track fitment?
TrackTECH matches the machine and track configuration before fulfillment, including the required width, pitch, link count, guide geometry, and applicable tread options. Send your machine make and model if you want fitment confirmed before ordering.
How fast do TrackTECH rubber tracks ship, and what warranty applies?
In-stock orders placed by 2 PM on a business day ship the same business day. Most orders arrive 1–2 business days after shipment. Qualifying rubber-track orders ship free in the lower 48 states, and eligible rubber tracks include 24-month warranty coverage. Delivery timing can vary by destination, carrier, freight requirements, and item availability.
