Rubber Track Size Guide — Decode Your Track in 60 Seconds

Every rubber track size follows the same pattern: WIDTH × PITCH × LINKS, sometimes with a guide letter. A size like 300x52.5Nx80 means 300mm wide, 52.5mm pitch, Narrow guide profile, 80 links in the loop. All four values must match your OEM track exactly.

The Four Numbers Explained

Position What it means Example: 450x86Bx58
First number Track width in millimeters 450 mm (~17.7")
Second number Pitch — mm between drive lugs 86 mm
Letter (optional) Guide type — controls lug profile B = Block (CTL standard)
Last number Total link count in the loop 58 links

Guide Letter Reference

  • N — Narrow guide. Mini excavator standard. Sized for narrow undercarriage frames.
  • W — Wide guide. Mid-class mini excavators (5–6 ton).
  • B — Block guide. Compact track loader standard. Staggered lug profile.

  • T — T-guide. Alternate CTL profile.
  • Y — Yanmar-style guide.
  • AV2 / AV3 — ASV-specific guides.

Common Sizes by Machine Class

Mini Excavators (1–6 ton)

230x48x60–72 · 230x72x42–56 · 250x47.5x84 · 300x52.5Nx80 · 300x52.5x84/86/88/90/92 · 400x72.5Wx74/76 · 350x52.5x86/90

Compact Track Loaders

320x86x49/50/52 · 400x86x52 · 400x86x49/50/53 · 450x86x55 · 450x86x56 · 450x86x58 · 450x86x60/63

Mini Track Loaders / Carriers

160x87x28/37 · 180x60x39 · 180x72x42/44/45 · 240x87x28/37 · 250x48x67 · 300x86x48

Don't Trust Just One Number

A 450x86x55 and 450x86x56 look almost identical but won't interchange — the extra link changes the tension geometry. Same with guide letters: a 400x86Bx52 and 400x86Tx52 use different sprocket profiles and aren't interchangeable.
