The John Deere 317G and 325G are often compared as neighboring compact track loader models, but their rubber-track fitment should not be copied from one machine to the other. TrackTECH's current governed data treats the two models very differently.
317G vs 325G Track Fitment

Important Correction
The current TrackTECH source of truth does not support the old claim that the 317G simply runs 400x86x52 or that the 325G uses 450x86x55. The 325G governed family uses 52 links, while the 317G candidates use 50 links. Those are different track identities.
Why Model-Only Charts Can Fail
Width is only one part of fitment. Pitch, link count, guide geometry, machine configuration, and the evidence behind a fitment all matter. Two Deere models that look similar can still require different track families.
How to Order Correctly
- Read the full molded size from the existing track.
- Match width, pitch, link count, and guide family.
- For a 317G, do not order from the model name alone; confirm the installed track first.
- For a 325G, confirm whether the machine is currently on the 320mm or 400mm governed configuration before ordering.
