On many compact track loaders you can choose a narrower or wider belt — same pitch and link count, different flotation and maneuverability. Confirm the molded stamp. Do not invent a width your undercarriage was not built for.
CTL width map
- ~320 mm (~13") — narrower option: tighter sites, hard surfaces, less overhang
- ~400 mm (~16") — wider vs 320: more flotation on soft ground
- ~450 mm (~18") — full-width CTL class where the machine is rated for it
When to choose which
Choose narrower for pavement, gravel, compacted surfaces, and tighter turning.
Choose wider for mud, sand, turf, snow — when ground pressure and flotation matter more than overhang.
