What is the actual difference?
Both sizes share 86 mm pitch and 49 links. The difference is width: 320 mm versus 400 mm. The wider track increases footprint and can improve flotation; the narrower track keeps the machine slimmer and can reduce turning resistance.
But the correct choice starts with the machine's current configuration. Do not convert widths just because another Bobcat model uses the same nominal track family.
Why the machine model still matters
The undercarriage part numbers differ between models and serial ranges. For example, the T595 uses sprocket 7204050, while the older T180/T190 families can use sprocket numbers including 6726052, 6736308, 7165111 and 7166679. The T590 has another serial-range group including 7165109, 6715821, 7196807 and 7227421.
Which tread should you choose?
Choose width first by verified fitment, then tread by surface. C-Block favors hard/abrasive work, Zig-Zag and Staggered Block suit mixed conditions, and Multi-Bar/open patterns favor softer terrain.
