Takeuchi Rubber Tracks Guide

Takeuchi Rubber Tracks Guide

Takeuchi pioneered the compact excavator market and continues to set standards for performance and reliability. Their TB mini excavators and TL compact track loaders are built for serious work — and they need tracks that can keep up with that reputation.

Takeuchi TB Series Mini Excavator Tracks

Takeuchi's TB line spans micro excavators to mid-size machines, each with specific track requirements:

TB108/TB125/TB128 (1-3 ton): These compact units use 230x96 or 300x52.5 track configurations. The TB125 and TB128 share the same track size, making inventory management easier for contractors running multiple machines.

TB135/TB138/TB145 (3-5 ton): Moving into the most popular size class, you'll find 300x52.5x86 and 350x52.5x86 configurations. The TB145 often runs the wider 350mm track for improved stability.

TB153/TB175/TB180 (5-8 ton): Larger TB excavators use 400mm wide tracks with 72.5mm pitch. Link counts range from 72-76 depending on the specific model.

TB216/TB219/TB225/TB228/TB230/TB235 (2-4 ton): Takeuchi's newer generation compact excavators use various configurations — always verify by model and serial number for exact specifications.

Takeuchi TL Series CTL Tracks

Takeuchi's TL compact track loaders have earned a strong following for their combination of loader performance and tracked mobility:

TL6R/TL8 (6,000-8,000 lb): These mid-size CTLs typically run 320x86 or 400x86 track configurations depending on the model year and market.

TL10/TL12/TL12R2 (10,000-12,000+ lb): The larger TL loaders use 450x86x55 or 450x86x56 tracks — the same dimensions found on competing CTLs from Bobcat, Case, and Caterpillar.

Takeuchi Quality Expectations

Contractors who run Takeuchi equipment typically have high expectations for parts quality. Takeuchi OEM tracks are excellent products, but the dealer markup pushes prices well above aftermarket alternatives that deliver equivalent performance.

TrackTECH tracks match Takeuchi OEM specifications for dimensions, guide patterns, and construction quality. Steel cord reinforcement, premium rubber compounds, and verified fitment are standard — not optional extras.

Takeuchi Track Sizes by Series

Takeuchi makes two major product lines requiring different tracks: the TB mini excavator series and the TL compact track loader series. Importantly, Takeuchi CTLs use a unique T-guide (Takeuchi guide) that is NOT compatible with standard Block-guide undercarriage.

Takeuchi TL Series (CTL) Sizes

  • TL6R: 320x86Tx48, Takeuchi T-guide
  • TL8R2: 320x86Tx52, Takeuchi T-guide
  • TL10V2 / TL10R: 400x86Tx52, Takeuchi T-guide
  • TL12R2 / TL12V2: 450x86Tx60, Takeuchi T-guide

The T-guide suffix is critical — ordering a Block-guide track for a Takeuchi CTL will result in derailment. See our full guide type explainer.

Takeuchi TB Series (Mini Excavator) Sizes

Takeuchi TB excavator sizes vary by model. Common sizes include 230x72, 300x52.5, and 400x72.5 depending on machine weight class. Use the track finder to look up your specific TB model.

Maintenance for Takeuchi Tracks

Takeuchi recommends tension checks every 50 hours. The T-guide undercarriage design requires careful tension management — over-tensioning stresses the guide lugs and causes premature cord separation. Read our maintenance guide for full tension specs.
